Ouray County Food Pantry is operated exclusively by volunteers.  There is no paid staff.   Volunteers typically work one Thursday a month. If not able to volunteer on a regular basis, there are other opportunities available, such as fund raising, receiving food deliveries and helping with special events. Persons interested in volunteering should contact a board member or use the email contact.
The pantry could not operate without its volunteers and strives to make volunteering a meaningful and rewarding experience.

Our Wonderful Volunteers
Being innovative and flexible, our volunteers have continued the distribution throughout the Covid pandemic. Distribution is moved outdoors depending on conditions, requiring volunteers and clients to wear masks, use hand sanitizer and practice social distancing. As an all-volunteer organization, we are dependent on the enthusiastic support of our volunteers, some of whom have been with us since the first pantry was founded. On average our 30 volunteers provide a total of 1,433 hours per year.
